How to get an injured kayaker back in their kayak!
The Scoop Sea Kayak Rescue method is the easiest way to get someone who is unable to get back in to their kayak whether they are exhausted or perhaps injured in some way. This method enables you to ‘roll’ the person back in to the sea kayak by first turning the kayak on its side and flooding it to make it easily for the person to get in to.
This video also demonstrates the ‘Haggerty Handle’ – which is an easy way to upright the kayak using your paddle.
Once the person is back in the kayak you can tow them to safety if they are unable to paddle it themselves.
